The Season of New Beginnings

Well, as the month begins it's time to reflect on the holidays and the blessings that abound ... even when we have those thoughts that perhaps things will never get better. Surprise! They are better relative to others with less. Why do so many of us yearn for more when ... more is what we have.

Think about it ... many of us have a roof over our heads, food to eat, family that loves us, friends that care, your health is good, a job (albeit, what it is) and, yet, we are not satisfied. I'm not saying that anyone should settle. Or, that you should strive to achieve more and better circumstances, but I'm saying for this minute choose to be greatful for the things that you do have.

Look around you. That person you passed in the hallway a few minutes ago, may not have as much as you. I believe that we should look as each day as a new beginning and a chance to do something for someone else that just might make them smile ... I sure that it will make you smile. Try it. You will be amazed at what a minute of kindness will bring into you life and further amazed at the joy you will give to someone else.
